Artistic Statement:
A series starts with an inspiration; sometimes a song, thought, emotion or story; even an inspiring person. Morgan provided all of this in abundance.
In 2020, I started work in capturing senior portraits for the graduating class of Daniel Hand High School. As we were in the midst of the pandemic, these sessions were a gift to the class who had lost so much.
In reality, the one receiving in abundance was me. Working alongside the magnificent group of students moving towards a new chapter in their life opened a new world for me.
From senior portraits to The Edge of Sorrow, the path to series work took root and has not stopped since.
I am forever grateful to the stories shared that flourished into a lifelong inspiration. - KD
